Our Mission

Big Sandy Independent School District will promote in all students a strong sense of academic achievement, positive self-image, and a desire to become responsible, productive citizen in our ever-changing society.

In order to achieve this, our school will provide curriculum that exceeds the state's requirements and is directed to quality instruction for all students at all levels.

If we value independence, if we are disturbed by the growing conformity of knowledge, of values, of attitudes, which our present system induces, then we may wish to set up conditions of learning which make for uniqueness, for self-direction, and for self-initiated learning.
