Tax Statement:

On August 29, 2005 the Big Sandy Independent School District Set the tax rate of $100 valuation for the District for the tax year 2005 at a total rate of $1.5890 to be assessed and collected by Marion Smith, Polk County Tax Assessor-Collector of Polk County as follows:

$ 1.5000 for the purpose of maintenance and operation, and $0.0890 for the purpose of payment of principal and interest on debts.



"This tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate and the tax rate will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 house by approximately $290."
